Save Our Skies Camarillo is a group of citizens that are concerned over the negative effects expansion and increased jet traffic at Camarillo Airport will have on the quality of life for Camarillo residents.
We hope to enlighten our neighbors as to the truth about the problems a growing airport presents to our community.

Our story
Many members of our group were active against the previous Ventura County Director of Airports attempts to bring commercial air service to Camarillo Airport (CMA). In 2021 he resigned and was replaced with our current director, Mr. Keith Freitas. Mr. Freitas has promised to honor the Joint Powers Agreement of 1976 and keep CMA a general aviation airport. However a new problem is affecting our community. Several years ago Santa Monica Airport shortened it’s runway causing increased private jet and air taxi traffic at other nearby airports including CMA. This is having a devastating effect on many Camarillo residents.
Our approach
Through public awareness and civic activism we are continually engaging with our elected and appointed officials to work on minimizing the noxious effects that the increased jet traffic at CMA is having on our neighborhoods.
